globeAP Human Geography

CGS - Stafford Site

Advanced Placement Human Geography is taught to seniors in the Commonwealth Governor's School.  Mr. Eric Powell teaches the class at the Stafford Site.   The focus of the course is on more than a normal physical geography class and focuses primarily on how the geography of the earth affects human settlement and how human activities alter the world around us.  We will examine a number of topics including population, culture, economic land use, urbanization, and globalization.  The course is an excellent culmination of your high school social studies career, and will take all that you have learned in previous classes and apply it to the world you live in. You should leave this class with a new appreciation of the world around you.  You will have developed your "geographic imagination".
